Privacy Policy

BuddyBuild ("we", "us") helps you find people to work out with. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using BuddyBuild you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information — your name and email address, provided when you sign up with email, Google, or Apple.
Profile information — the details you add to your profile: photos, age, bio, workout preferences, experience level, preferred training times, and preferred gym.
Location — your approximate device location, used to show you workout sessions and training partners near you. Your exact coordinates are never shown to other users; they only see an approximate distance.
Content you create — workout sessions you post, join requests, and messages you send in chat.
Device information — a push notification token for your device, so we can deliver notifications about requests, messages, and workout confirmations.

2. How we use your information

To operate the core features of the app: showing nearby sessions, connecting you with training partners, and enabling chat.
To send push notifications about activity relevant to you (new join requests, accepted requests, new messages, workout confirmations, expired sessions). You can disable these anytime in your iPhone Settings.
To keep the platform safe and prevent misuse.

We do not sell your personal data, use it for third-party advertising, or use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

3. What other users can see

Your profile (name, photos, age, bio, workout preferences, experience level) is visible to other signed-in BuddyBuild users.
Your approximate distance is visible; your exact location is not.
Messages are visible only to the person you're chatting with.
Your email address is never shown to other users.

4. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored with Supabase (our backend provider), hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Push notifications are delivered through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service. If you sign in with Google or Apple, those providers verify your identity; we only receive your name and email address.

5. Data retention and deletion

Expired sessions, requests, and inactive matches are cleaned up automatically over time.
You can request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data (profile, photos, sessions, messages) by emailing egencer2626@gmail.com from the email linked to your account. Deletion is completed within 30 days.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.

7. Children

BuddyBuild is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child is using the app, please contact us and we will remove the account.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date on this page.
